Moses,18; and Adedeji, 25; whose addresses were not provided, are facing a five count-charge bothering on conspiracy, break-in, felony to wit stealing and malicious damage.

The defendants, however, pleaded not guilty of the charges preferred against them.

The prosecutor, Insp. Aminu Isaac, said the defendants with others still at large, committed the offences in December 2019 at 3 a.m., at Abule Eko Junction, along Ijede Road in Ikorodu.

Isaac said that the defendants unlawfully entered into a shop belonging to the complainant, Livinus Nwibo, and stole the sum of N370,000.

He said that the defendants also maliciously damaged part of the wall of the shop valued N100,000.

The prosecutor also alleged that the defendants had on Dec. 24, 2019, at 11 p.m. escaped from the Ijede Police Station’s cell after they had destroyed it.

The prosecutor said that the offences contravened Sections 411(2), 309, 287, 339(2), and 106(3) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The magistrate, Mr H.A.Amos, granted each of the defendants N100, 000 bail with two sureties each in like sum.

Amos added that one of the sureties must be a blood relation of the defendants.

The court adjourned the case until March 19, for mention.
