Two men, who allegedly defrauded their friend, Friday Oshi, of N200,000 under the pretext of helping him to procure a China Visa, on Thursday appeared before a Tinubu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos.
The accused: Ibrahim Bakare, 40; and Olawale Opere, 36, are facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, fraud and theft.
They both denied the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs Memunat Folami, granted each of the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties each in like sum.
Folami adjourned the case till April 27 for hearing.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Philip Osijiale, had told the court that the accused committed the offences on May 3, 2014 at No. 6, Agbatira St., Lagos Island, Lagos.
Osijiale said that the accused obtained N200,000 from their friend, Oshi, with the pretext of helping him to get a China Visa but converted the money to their own use.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 285, 312 and 409 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011. (NAN)
