An Osun Magistrates’ Court sitting in Ile-Ife on Monday, remanded two persons Supo Bamidele, 48 and Amos Suleiman, 51in prison over alleged possession of human parts.
Magistrate Olalekan Ijiyode refused the oral bail applications of the accused and ordered their counsels, Mr Lere Ayinde and Mr Niyi Kosile to file a written application for the consideration.
Ijiyode remanded the accused in Ile-Ife Prisons and adjourned the case until Jan. 31 for mention.
The accused are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and being in possession of human parts.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Christian Olajide, told the court that the accused committed the offence on Nov 31, 2018 at 4:30 pm at Ondo Road Area, Ile-Ife.
Olajide said the accused were caught with a human head, two hands, human flesh, which they could not give any satisfactory account of how they came about them.
“The accused could not give satisfactory account of how they came about human head, two hands, human flesh which we suspected was to be used for rituals,” he said.
Olajide said the offence contravened 242 (1), (b) 329A, and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Osun, 2002. (NAN)
