Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential aspirant, Sen. Rab’iu Musa Kwankwaso has revealed that no fewer than 2.5 million of his supporters are in Kano alone.
Kwankwaso, who is the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, a political group loyal to him, made this known today while meeting PDP State Executive Committee members in Lagos ahead of the October 5 presidential primary of the party.
He said that his growing support base has made him a key stakeholder in determining which way elections will go in 2019.

Kwankwaso, who currently represents Kano Central senatorial district in the National Assembly, recounted how he won the election with a historic 760,000 votes in 2015.
He reiterated that his support base has increased exponentially since the last general election.
The former Kano Governor noted that Lagos and Kano share similarities, especially in the area of population, and stressed that both states will greatly determine who wins the 2019 presidential election.
He disclosed that as part of efforts to improve the fortunes of Lagos PDP in the upcoming election, he has advised thousands of Kwankwasiyya members in Lagos to register with the PDP.
According to him, members of the group are disciplined, hardworking, committed to the group’s ideology and are in the grassroots.
Describing 2019 as a turning point in Nigeria’s history, Kwankwaso urged the state executives to back his candidacy as he has what it takes to win the presidential election.
Kwankwaso said, he said, “One special thing about me is that I started from the grassroots. I understand the workings of government. I believe if the ticket is given to me, I have already won election.”
