Controversial former Minister of Aviation and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has lambasted the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II, over allegations that $1 billion was stolen monthly under the administration of Dr. Goodluck Jonathan.
Sanusi, who was Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria before his ascension to the throne of Kano Emirate, had told a US television station that Jonathan’s administration orchestrated the worst form of corruption in the world.
He said: “In Nigeria, there is no accountability at all and that is why I think Nigerian corruption is worse than in many parts of the world because it is the worst type of corruption. It’s stealing.
“Frankly, I think a billion dollars under Jonathan a month was about what we were losing”.
But in a swift reaction, Fani-Kayode, who was the Media and Publicity Director during the second term bid of Jonathan/Sambo Campaign Organisation, lashed out at Sanusi, describing him as “completely mad” for the allegation.
