Bulls Move Market To End Week 0.23% Up

The All Share Index of the Nigerian Stock Exchange gained 0.23% (265 points), rebounding from a 0.75% (201 points) loss recorded yesterday.

The local bourse ended the day at 27,269.71 points, while Market Capitalization for the market at the close of trading today was N9.3 Trillion.

A total of 2,843 deals were struck today, an increase from 2,747 deals recorded yesterday, while the total volume of shares traded on the floor today were 141,402,066 and the total value of transactions recorded today was N3 Billion.

FO led the gainers chart adding N12 to close at N248 followed by NB and FLOURMILL which added N2.69 and N0.97 close at N119 and N20.47 respectively; GUARANTY and GUINNESS added N0.4 and N0.4 to close at N18.99 and N125 respectively.

The losers chart was led by UNILEVER who lost N3.52 to close with a share price of N41.98 followed by TOTAL and 7UP who lost N3.01 and N0.5 to close with share prices of N145 and N181.5 respectively; PZ and ZENITHBANK lost N0.46 and N0.45 to close with share prices of N27 and N14.8 respectively.

The top five most actively traded shares by volume on the exchange today were GUARANTY with shares valued at N410 Million, TRANSCORP with shares valued at N23 Million, ZENITHBANK with shares valued at N169 Million, FBNH with shares valued at N40 Million and UBA with shares valued at N30 Million.

The market breadth close positive as FO led 25 Gainers against 11 losers led by UNILEVER.
