17-year-old Nigerian, Serena Omo-Lamai, has been granted 13 admissions in both American and Canadian universities to further her education.
The Nigerian teenager who graduated from Dowen College located in Lekki, Lagos State, last year, was offered admission into Emory University, Georgia Institute of Technology, New York University, among others. She however chose Syracuse University in the United States.
Omo-Lamai according to reports will be going to the choice university in the United States to study Bio-Medical Engineering.
Speaking with news agency, Punch, on Monday, Omo-Lamai explained the reason behind her choice of university noting that the institution is a world class academic facility. She also disclosed that she was offered scholarship worth $51,000.
She said: “My hope is to study medicine for a second degree, but I would love to be a medical engineer. Most of the medical equipment in the country are imported and I would like a situation where medical equipment is manufactured here in Nigeria.
“My parents are my role models, but I am also inspired by anyone who is hard working, anyone who puts so much efforts into what they do”.
