The Independent National Electoral Commission has said that nothing will stop the planned Kogi State governorship supplementary election scheduled for December 5.
In an interview with Punch, the commission’s Deputy Director of Voters Education and Publicity, Mr. Nick Dazang said that a budget has been prepared for the supplementary election.
Dazang said “We are prepared for the election and we are not thinking of either postponing it or cancelling it. In fact, we have prepared a supplementary budget for the election.
“The budget is for the conduct of the election and it will cover expenses such as accommodation, allowance and other logistics for the election.”
He also explained that the All Progressives Congress is yet to submit the name of the party’s candidate although the commission has not given a deadline.
The Kogi Polls held last Saturday was thrown in myriad of uncertainty after the APC candidate Abubakar Audu was reported dead not long the election was declared inconclusive by INEC.
