Favor Babalola, a 13-year-old girl, has been raped by a 38-year-old church member during a vigil at a Church which is along ldanre road in Akure, the capital of Ondo State.
According to Vanguard report, the suspect, Olamide Awogbayi, who is now in police custody, lured the girl who accompanied her parents to the vigil on Sunday night, into an uncompleted building around the church and then defiled her.
The police spokesperson who spoke to the Vanguard also stated that her parents who noticed her disappearance raised an alarm. The church then organized a search party which then found her lying unconscious and in a pool of blood.

She was rushed to the hospital where it was confirmed that she had been raped. The girl who woke up after being treated described the suspect who was eventually apprehended and handed over to the police where he confessed and blamed the devil for his evil act.
The girl is currently on admission at the hospital where she is still recovering from the injuries which she sustained from the rape.
The police spokesman further disclosed that the suspect will be arraigned in court for his crime immediately at the close of investigations.
