Ten members of the same family have tested positive for novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Kaduna State.
Governor Nasir el-Rufai disclosed this in a series of tweets on Friday.
Recall that the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) had Thursday night announced that 18 new cases were recorded in the North-West state.
According to the governor, the new cases were recorded across four local government areas of the state.
The governor identified the LGAs were the COVID-19 cases were recorded as Kaduna North, Zaria, Chikun and Sabon-Gari.

Giving a further breakdown of the figures, he said 14 were from Kaduna North, two from Zaria and one each from Chikun and Sabon-Gari.
He tweeted, “COVID19 Kaduna Update.
“18 new cases were recorded today, 10 of whom are members of one family.
“14 of the new cases are from Kaduna North, two from Zaria and one each from Chikun and Sabon-Gari LGAs.”
El-Rufai urged resident to adhere strictly to use of face masks, social distancing and other safety guidelines.
This is just as the state government had declared that there would not be congregational prayers to mark the Eid-el-Fitri in the state to check spread of the virus through community transmission.
