Reports just filtering in say at least 10 people have lost their lives and 100 wounded in latest Boko Haram attacks in Northern Cameroon.
The fresh attacks occurred on an army camp and a market on Thursday.
“For the moment there are around 10 dead and about 100 wounded in the attack near the camp … We’re still awaiting a report from our teams on the bombing at the market,” a senior army officer based in Northern Cameroon said, Reuters reports.
The attacks come on the heels of an announcement by Nigeria Air Force spokesman, Air Commodore Dele Alonge that the force had struck and destroyed solar panels believed to have been used by Boko Haram for electricity in Sambisa forest, north eastern Nigeria.
Starting in late January 2015, a coalition of military forces from Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon, and Niger began a counter-insurgency campaign against Boko Haram, a campaign which is still on-going.
