The Porsche Macan is a high-end compact Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) from the Porsche family that is built to combine speed with strength.
It is built to resemble a smaller version of the popular Cayenne, and patterned after the Audi Q5, a sister brand.
According to Porsche, the Macan is “the first compact SUV that’s also a sports car.”
The model comes in five variants: Macan, Macan S, Macan S Diesel, Macan GTS and Macan Turbo.
There are three engine choices: a 254bhp V6 diesel and two V6 petrol, 335bhp S and 384bhp Turbo.
All Macans feature a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive.
The Turbo is the fastest of the variants, capable of hitting 0-62mph in five seconds.
The idea of a Macan was first raised in November 2010, but Porsche did not formally announce it until March 2011.
The 2016 Porsche Macan is expected to be unveiled in the first quarter of 2016.
