The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared the former governor of Katsina State, Ibrahim Shema, wanted over connection with N68 billion funds diversion scandal.
The anti-graft agency made this known in a released signed by its spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren.
The wanted status of the ex-governor was contained in a public notice issued by the commission to the members of the public.
According to the release, Shema had earlier been incited by the EFCC in December 2015 for questioning which he turned down. He has since turned down all invitations by the anti-graft agency which led to the recent development.
Uwujaren said: “The former governor is wanted for alleged criminal conspiracy, inflation of contract, abuse of office, diversion of funds and embezzlement running into billions of naira.”
